Theo tại Quyết định 51/2011/QĐ-TTg ngày 12/9/2011 của Chính phủ quy định danh mục phương tiện, thiết bị phải dán nhãn năng lượng, áp dụng mức hiệu suất năng lượng tối thiểu và lộ trình thực hiện thì đối với các sản phẩm đèn tròn (đèn sợi đốt) từ ngày 01 tháng 01 năm 2013, không được nhập khẩu, sản xuất và lưu thông loại đèn có công suất lớn hơn 60W. Các sản phẩm đèn sợi đốt có đặc tính kỹ thuật đặc biệt sử dụng trong một số mục đích chuyên dụng vẫn được nhập khẩu, tuy nhiên việc phân biệt chủng loại sản phẩm này phức tạp cần được kiểm tra xác minh thông số kỹ thuật cụ thể.
